Wire Holding Clamp

The Stormtronics 502-DDT Wire Holding Clamp is designed to hold the loose end of the wire to provide consistent twisted assemblies, and to reduce operator fatigue.This fully pneumatic device utilizes standard air pressure to clamp and hold 2 pairs of wires with the proper amount of tension to achieve a consistent twist on the entire length of the twisted assembly. The individually controlled clamps are activated by toggle switches mounted on the top of the unit. As the wire is twisted the tension cylinder extends as it is pulled by the shrinkage of the twisted wire. The clamp pressure is controlled by the large regulator knob mounted on the top of the unit.The pull tension is adjusted by the tension adjust screw located on the front of the unit.

Wire Twister

The Stormtronics 5011-01, MT.2 is a electro-pneumatic table-top wire twister for 12-30 gauge wires.Designed to not damage the wire insulation, the MT.2 uses regulated air pressure to compress the adapter tubing onto the wire for a firm yet elicate hold. The MT.2 is a very simple to use machine with a 2-stage footswitch to control the 4-digit Twist counter and 2500rpm variable speed motor with reversing ability. The MT.2 will keep count of your assemblies with a 4-digit re-settable Batch counter. Simple Operation, just enter the number of twists desired on the twist counter, insert the wires in to the mandrel adapter collet, press the footswitch first stage to clamp the wire in the mandrel, pull loose end of the wire away from the machine, compress the second stage of the footswitch and the machine will twist the wire with the set number of twists.
Release the footswitch, remove the wire from the mandrel insert more and repeat.

How do they work?
The S1 (clamp switch) is a maintained switch which activates the air valve to
clamp the wire in the adapter assembly holding the wire firmly. The S2 (twist
switch) is a momentary switch that activates the Twist function.
Important note: For safety purposes the S2 (twist swtch) is only enabled if the
S1 (clamp switch) is activated. The S2 switch must be depressed and held to
complete the number of set twist counts. The twist counter may be stopped
and started during the count by releasing and re-pressing the S2 (twist switch).
The twist counter will only reset when the S1 (clamp switch) is released to
remove the wire. This is especially important on the 4001-00 Type-A and the
4002-00 Type-B footswitch assmeblies.

The 4002-00 “Type-B” Footswitch seperatesthe S1 (clamp switch) and the S2 (twist switch) by 10′. This allows the operator to activate the unit while holding the far “loose” end of the wires. The 4002-00 is great for wires around 4 meters(~12′), however longer footswitch assemblies are available for longer wires

PHT Dual Pneumatic Head Wire Twister

Designed to be a heavy-duty multiple assembly Wire Twister. The PHT utilizes the same simple to use method as our standard MT.2 wire twister with a big difference. The PHT has a much more powerful motor and two mandrels to twist heavy gauge wires such as 10 and 12 gauge but will still delicately handle wires a small as 30-32 gauge and can twist TWO assemblies at the same time! The operator easily inserts the wires into the Adapter Collet and presses the first stage “clamp” foot switch located near the machine. The operator then steps back pulling the wires straight and presses the second stage “Twist” footswitch, this activates the Twist cycle. When the number of twists are completed the operator simply releases the foot switches to remove the wires and insert more to twist another set.

The clamp function is activated by a toggle switch located on the top of the unit. As the wire is twisted the tension piston extends as it is pulled by the shrinkage of the twisted wire. The tension is adjustable by the Tension Adjust screw in the from of the unit.

Dual Mechanical Head Wire Twister

The MHT-1700-D (Item# 5020-00) Dual Mechanical Head Wire Twister provides 2 wire holding clamps to process 1 or 2 PRE-Terminated wire assemblies at the same time. The MHT-1700-D utilizes a easy to use 4 digit settable turns counter to pre-set the number of twists required, a 4 digit batch counter to keep count of the processed assemblies. The MHT-1700-D is designed with safety in mind with an illuminated ON/OFF switch, an easy to see green ON light and a clear Lexan safety cover with Safety interlock switch that disables the machine when open. The machine cycle is activated by a single guarded footswitch that is placed at the remote end of the wire assembly. Asshown in the image above, the machine typically is provided with two blank Adapter plates. Most users machine the provided blank Adapter plates themselves to match the profile of the wire terminals thus making the terminal interlocking device which holds the wires being twisted. However if you would like the MHT-1700-D to be provided with premachined Adapter plates please send samples of your terminated wires for review, Pre-machined Adapter plates are provided at an additional cost
